With vaccines beginning to roll out across the world, despite the darkness that descends this January, we have some things to be excited about and to share with you this year.
Last March in response to the world events we launched our COVID-19 Community, which as the year went on, evolved to become our Community Voices project. This featured senior international leaders sharing their experiences, advice and challenges as we sought to create a resource for many of whom are struggling with a very new way of working and living.
In 2021 we will keep our community voices alive, continuing to promote leaders from the industry within our platform and promoted those inspiring voices that are thriving across the world.
Masterclasses
In late 2020 we were delighted to launch our inaugural masterclass series with India Gary-Martin. Our new Masterclass platform is designed to present different courses for you to follow, focused on different topics and thematics, with video lessons delivered by a course leader and additional supplementary resources to download and to follow. India focused on leadership, taking in elements around racial equity and managing teams in a crisis. We will be launching our second Masterclass with J.P. Morgan around ESG and managing sustainability within the next month and look forward to adding more courses to the platform over the course of the year.
Women in Treasury Within hub
Treasury Today’s Women in Treasury initiative has grown in popularity and prescience across the world since we launched the initiative nearly a decade ago. One of the limitations for us as we have rolled out forums and roundtables across the world has been that there is a limit to how many places we can physically be in to bring our community together and host networking and sharing events. Over the last three years we were lucky enough to host special events in Seattle in collaboration with Microsoft’s treasury teams and CFO, Amy Hood. We also hosted community events in Singapore, Sydney, San Francisco, Boston, Chicago, Geneva, London, New York and beyond. To keep these communities engaged and, beyond that, to connect them with each other transcending location, we are proud to announce the launch of our Within hub. The Within hub is an online platform within our Treasury Today Group website which gives you access to chat and discuss any issues you are facing with our global Women in Treasury community, whilst also hosting all dedicated content, tools and resources to help you succeed in your career.
Women in Treasury Within podcast
We will be launching a new Within podcast hosting conversations and commiserations, triumphs and tribulations with leading figures from across the world. Hosted by Meg Coates and Sophie Jackson, they will present their thoughts on the issues of the day for the initiative. We hope this new podcast series will keep us all connected and in conversation whilst we continue to work from home and manage teams remotely.
Adam Smith Awards
We will be bringing together our Adam Smith Awards and Adam Smith Awards Asia alumnae in 2021 and look forward to showing you more from treasury best practice. Our awards programme will continue to remain virtual in 2021 and we will be sharing all our winners’ stories from the APAC 2020 programme in our dedicated podcast series which has begun already.
