This year Treasury Today Group celebrates 26 years in the corporate treasury arena and 17 years celebrating best practice and innovation through our Adam Smith Awards. A highlight in the corporate treasury calendar, we are delighted to continue this important programme of recognition and this year generated a record-breaking 389 nominations across 34 countries – truly outstanding.
The role of treasury as a strategic partner, constantly challenged to deliver better and more innovative solutions to support corporate growth shines brighter than ever.
Like this year’s Overall Winner of our Treasury Today’s Top Treasury Team category, Siemens Healthineers AG, led by Svenja Peters, Head of Treasury Strategy and Projects. Since its spin off in 2015, the company has steadily built its own, autonomous, treasury solution, most recently integrating a sweeping new TMS under its Treasury for Future Project in a complex and innovative example of pioneering treasury leadership.
Other winners include US software group Klaviyo, headquartered in Boston, scooping Best IPO Listing, a new award, in a year of muted IPO activity. Klaviyo joins other emerging corporate names like Iron Mountain, our Overall Winner, Best Cash Pooling Solution; Scorpio, which won Best Supply Chain Solution and new GE spin off GE Vernova for Best Risk Management Solution.
Publishing and services group Pearson won our Best Emerging Technology Solution for its new data warehouse solution that paves the way for more effective and agile treasury operations. Regional Best in Class Treasury Solution awards went to Aliaxis, Imerys, and Americana Restaurants for Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East respectively.
World Bank Group scooped our Judges’ Choice. This is awarded to submissions worthy of particular attention and that demonstrate something extraordinary and unique in their implementation. The team led by Pam O’Connell and Jorge Familiar who have implemented a series of innovative funding and global payments solutions to meet the urgent responses and critical, long-term development needs of the Group are worthy winners.
Our individual award categories were also hotly contested. Our 2024 Rising Star is General Mills’ Kirsty Craig and our Corporate Treasurer of the Year was scooped by Uber’s Odette Rodrigues. Only 15 months into the job, Odette has already combined the capital markets team with global cash and other treasury functions, transforming the company’s treasury function to focus on capital efficiency as Uber transforms from start up to profit-oriented global company.
This year’s Highly Commended winners include PayPal and Spotfiy in our Best Transaction Management Solution category, Garrett Motion, Minerva Foods SA and Notino in our Best Supply Chain Solution, and IVECO Capital, Whitbread and Volvo AB in our Best Emerging Technology Solution, alongside many others.
Following our winners’ announcement on 7th May, the Adam Smith Awards season has now begun. It includes a prestigious Adam Smith Awards Celebration Dinner in London at the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel, to take place on the evening of Wednesday 26th June from 6pm to 10pm. During the evening winners and their partners will be presented with their bespoke crystal awards. We will also be sharing all their success stories throughout our case study series, launching in August.
The Adam Smith Awards is globally recognised as the industry benchmark for best practice and exceptional solutions in corporate treasury, and this year is no exception. We look forward to celebrating our winners’ achievements and to bringing our formidable community together once again.
