Background

Treasury Today Group were the first to assess sustainability trends amongst corporate treasurers with our inaugural Sustainability Study, launched in 2019. This research mapped companies’ awareness and engagement with climate risk and wider sustainability themes under the umbrella of both environmental, social and governance (ESG) and corporate social responsibility (CSR).

State of play/awareness in 2024

Five years on, we are seeking responses from all members of our global community – whether your strategy and awareness are less developed or at an advanced level. This year’s study will build on previous research by diving deeper into the level of progress of companies in integrating climate risk, opportunity and wider sustainability into their corporate strategy.

We will be exploring specific KPIs and efforts to reduce Scope 3 emissions; treasury and finance function’s appetite for green investments and the extent to which companies are disclosing climate impacts in their financial reporting. Is sustainability at your company a matter of risk control or does taking sustainability into account boost financial performance?
