It has never been more important to bring the community together, and a new era with new challenges requires a new way to create interactive experiences and to connect our community. Our Women in Treasury London Forum 2020 took place on Thursday 10th September as a digital event.
Featuring a vibrant and insightful virtual panel discussion with four leading industry speakers and moderated by Sophie Jackson, Publisher & Head of Strategic Content, Treasury Today Group, the Women in Treasury London Forum 2020 saw a lively debate of some of the key topics highlighted by the respondents of our Women in Treasury Global Study 2020, in association with State Street Global Advisors.

The panel discussion provided a fantastic opportunity for everyone in the audience to express their views and put questions to the speakers. The new digital delivery of the event allowed the use of live polling and an interactive question and answer session, so attendees could enjoy a truly immersive experience, with the panel discussing and responding to their views in real-time. This online event presented a rare chance to hear about the career journeys of our inspirational speakers and be part of our well-established, lively and informative discussions.

Tian Song
Senior Treasury Manager, Baker Hughes (NYSE: BKR)
Tian is responsible for bank relationship management. She is also closely involved in Baker Hughes’ separation project with GE, to set up a stand-alone treasury operating model. She is an Associate Member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers (AMCT). Her professional experience includes working as a corporate finance analyst with General Electric in Beijing and Shanghai, as an associate with GE’s Corporate Audit Staff in various US locations, and as a treasury manager with Baker Hughes in London, UK. Since Tian started her treasury career in 2018, she has won a Ones to Watch award with ACT and an Adam Smith Awards Highly Commended Best Liquidity Solution award with Treasury Today in 2019; Tian is also the Overall Winner of A Rising Star in the Adam Smith Awards 2020.
Halina Bernard
Head of Treasury, General Motors Middle East Operations, Dubai UAE
Halina joined the GM Middle East Regional Office in 2010. Before joining GM, Halina worked with various US MNCs, including Philip Morris International in Switzerland and Informix Software Ltd in the UK, and held various roles in treasury and finance. Halina has a BA Degree in Corporate Finance (London Metropolitan University, UK) and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with specialisation in Banking and Finance (Pace University NY, USA).
Diane S Reyes
Group General Manager, Global Head of Liquidity and Cash Management, HSBC
Since 2011, Diane has been the Global Head of Liquidity and Cash Management, a multi-billion dollar business operating across five regions and over 50 countries and territories. Diane is a senior sponsor for one of the Diversity programmes within HSBC’s Global Banking and Markets as well as the Executive Sponsor for the HBUS Nurture Employee Resource Group. Kim leads a global sales team to market and grow the firm’s global institutional cash management products and solutions. Kim currently holds the Chair position on the Board of the Institutional Money Market Fund Association in London. Kim holds an MSc from the London School of Economics & Political Science and a BA from University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa.
Sophie Jackson
Publisher & Head of Strategic Content, Treasury Today Group
Sophie Jackson is Publisher & Head of Strategic Content at Treasury Today Group and has 13 years’ experience in publishing. She began her career in a role in cultural publishing at the Dazed Group in London before moving to Tokyo in late 2010 to work as a freelance editor and consultant. Sophie headed up the launch of Treasury Today Asia in 2012 whilst based in Japan and then Hong Kong. Treasury Today Asia is now read by 65,000 corporates across Asia Pacific and our Adam Smith Awards Asia are in their seventh year. Sophie is a driving force behind our global Women in Treasury initiative and a passionate proponent of diversity and inclusion. She is a UCL graduate who studied in Paris and London and is based in Europe.
