Women in Treasury US Forum 2021

The US Forum took place from 12pm to 13.30pm EDT on Wednesday 17th November as a digital event, creating interactive experiences enabling attendees to enjoy a truly immersive event.

We heard from senior decision makers from some of the region’s largest corporations, to understand what is important to them and enjoyed the opportunity to interact with many of them. The Forum featured a vibrant and insightful panel discussion to debate some of the key topics highlighted by the respondents of our Women in Treasury Global Study, sponsored by State Street Global Advisors.

Danette Le

Vice President and Assistant Treasurer, Corporate Finance, Host Hotels & Resorts

Danette Le is vice president and assistant treasurer of Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc., an S&P 500 company, and the largest lodging real estate investment trust. She joined the company in 2006 as a senior accountant and navigated through various roles in Accounting, Corporate Finance, Enterprise Analytics and Treasury. Before joining Host, Danette worked for Meristar Hospitality. More recently in 2019, she also applied her passion for advancing women’s initiatives to spearhead the start of Host’s Women’s Inspirational Network (WIN) and now co-chairs the program. Danette holds a BS in Finance and International Marketing from American University and an MBA from University of Maryland, College Park.

Karina Inga-Kamienski

Senior Director, Capital Markets, Gilead Sciences, Inc.

Karina is currently Senior Director, Capital Markets at Gilead Sciences, Inc. where she oversees Long Range Cash Forecasting, Capital Structure and Shareholder Return. Ms. Inga-Kamienski previously held a dual role in Capital Markets and Investor Relations at Gilead and has also managed Cash Management and Foreign Exchange. Prior to joining Gilead, Ms. Inga-Kamienski was a Treasury consultant at Treasury Dynamics, Inc. managing Cash, Investment and Treasury Systems for clients including KLA-Tencor, Intuit and Electronic Arts. Previously, she was Treasury Manager at Core-Mark International, Inc. Ms. Inga-Kamienski holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Banking from San Francisco State University and a Masters In Business Administration from the University of San Francisco. Ms. Inga-Kamienski is the founder of the Women In Treasury Network in the S.F. Bay Area and Latinas In Finance and Treasury. Karina also serves on the Board of the YMSL Crystal Springs Chapter as VP, Philanthropy.

Phung Ngo-Burns

Chief Accounting Officer and Treasurer, NexTier Completion Solutions

As Chief Accounting Officer and Treasurer at NexTier Completion Solutions, the second largest oilfield service company in the US, Phung Ngo-Burns has travelled a long and winding road in achieving the personal and professional success she enjoys today. As a highly successful leader in a male-dominated industry, Phung passionately believes in diversity and inclusion, empowering her treasury teammates and encouraging them to achieve their best, delegating authority and allowing them to “own” their roles. In particular, she mentors women teammates, offering guidance and wisdom from her own personal experience and nurturing their career and leadership aspirations. Her abiding belief is that the more her team shines, the better it reflects on her and the business. As an Asian-American, Phung understands first-hand the challenges faced by minorities and women. And she has committed herself to promoting diversity and inclusiveness practices in all her undertakings, because she knows that personal responsibility is the key to change.

Dorothy Musho

Executive Vice President, Head of Commercial Banking Sales, Global Liquidity & Cash Management, HSBC

Dorothy Musho is Executive Vice President, Head of Commercial Banking Sales, Global Liquidity & Cash Management of HSBC Bank USA, N.A, a subsidiary of HSBC Holdings plc. She is responsible for leading the Liquidity and Cash Management sales force serving the needs of Commercial Banking clients in the US. Dorothy has more than 25 years of banking industry experience and has held treasury leadership positions with Capital One and JP Morgan Chase. She began her banking career in branch management and personal banking roles. She is credit trained and also worked for several years as a commercial banker. Dorothy holds a B.A. in economics from Saint Anselm College and is a past member of the college’s Board of Trustees. She is currently a member of the HSBC’s Senior Women’s Forum and is an active mentor for several of HSBC’s formal talent programmes.

Lisa Davis

Global Head of Digital Channels, J.P. Morgan Wholesale Payments

Lisa Davis is the Global Head of Digital Channels for J.P. Morgan Wholesale Payments, responsible for enhancing the digital experience and delivering market-leading solutions. She leads the global team that owns the digital suite of solutions offered to Commercial Bank and Corporate & Investment Bank clients in online and mobile banking, host to host interfaces, APIs and SWIFT. In line with her role, Lisa is representing J.P. Morgan on SWIFT’s Corporate Advisory Group. Lisa comes to the firm from Citigroup, where she served as their Head of Discover 10X Innovation. Prior to that role, Lisa was the Data Governance Officer (DGO) for Citi Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) and was responsible for driving data governance best practices across the TTS organisation globally. Lisa is a veteran of the United States Air Force and has an M.B.A from Baruch.

Sophie Jackson

Publisher & Head of Strategic Content, Treasury Today Group

Sophie Jackson is Publisher & Head of Strategic Content at Treasury Today Group and has 13 years’ experience in publishing. She began her career in a role in cultural publishing at the Dazed Group in London before moving to Tokyo in late 2010 to work as a freelance editor and consultant. Sophie headed up the launch of Treasury Today Asia in 2012 whilst based in Japan and then Hong Kong. Treasury Today Asia is now read by 65,000 corporates across Asia Pacific and our Adam Smith Awards Asia are in their eighth year. Sophie is a driving force behind our global Women in Treasury initiative and a passionate proponent of diversity and inclusion. She is a UCL graduate who studied in Paris and London and is based in Europe.
