In a heartwarming display of opposites attracting, the world’s tallest and shortest living dogs have met in person, proving that friendships really do come in all sizes.

Reggie, a seven-year-old Great Dane from Idaho, stands at an impressive three feet three inches tall and currently holds the Guinness World Record for the tallest living male dog. Whilst Pearl, a four-year-old chihuahua from Florida, is his complete opposite, measuring just 3.59 inches in height, she holds the title of the shortest living dog.

Despite the nearly three-foot difference between them – roughly the height of a baseball bat – the two pups shared a playful encounter when Pearl travelled across the country to meet Reggie. The unlikely duo’s meeting was captured on camera and shared by Guinness World Records.

“I was surprised Pearl wasn’t more afraid of Reggie,” said Reggie’s owner, Sam Johnson. “But she was so excited and interested in him, and he was just like ‘whoa, I have no idea what that is.’”

Pearl’s owner, Vanesa Semler, added, “When Pearl meets bigger dogs, she is really friendly. I think she has no idea she is a small dog.”

The adorable meet-up has captured hearts online and serves as a reminder that size doesn’t matter when it comes to making new friends.
