With the annual EuroFinance International conference nearly upon us, Treasury Today looks ahead to the event and picks out ten things not to miss.

The theme for this year’s EuroFinance International Treasury Management conference is ‘Intelligent Treasury’. Speaking to the wave of technological innovation that has washed over the financial industry over recent years, the conference aims to give treasurers insight into the key trends.

To help you plan your time at the event, Treasury Today has compiled a list of ten things not to miss.

  1. Predicting the future

Many sessions at EuroFinance will look behind the curtain to see what the future has in store. But any treasurer (or banker) wondering what the future holds should attend the Banking 4.0 Plenary session with the world-renowned futurist Brett King on day three at 9:10.

  2. Complex countries

As businesses have expanded around the world, the treasury profession has become truly global. However, international expansion brings with it new complexities for treasury teams, especially if they are operating in tricky markets like China and India. Learn how to operate in these challenging markets on day one in the Complex Countries Stream. In preparation, read how to navigate emerging markets.

  3. Drinks with Treasury Today

Wind down at the end of the day with Treasury Today and chat with your peers. We will be serving drinks and nibbles at our stand (L079) at 17:00 on day one and welcome all our readers to attend. For more information please contact Meg Coates.

With ample experience in this field, Simon Taylor, Co-Founder, Director of Blockchain at 11:FS UK, explores the blockchain phenomenon. He seeks to explain what the real-world uses for blockchain are and how these might impact treasury. Simon will be speaking in the Main Session on day two at 11:00. In the meantime, read what several of the worlds’ foremost blockchain authorities say about the technology.

  5. Treasury Today and Bank of America Merrill Lynch exclusive corporateonly breakfast

The findings of Treasury Today and Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s 2017 Voice of Corporate Treasury Study are out. Come and hear about the key findings and what some of the world’s leading treasurers think about them. 7. Tech titan treasury

In just over ten years, Amazon’s revenue has grown from US$6bn to US$136bn. Kurt Zumwalt, Treasurer at Amazon, talks about the pivotal role that treasury has played in the tech titan’s success and gives some lessons on how to build a scalable infrastructure for the future. Hear the Amazon story on day two, in Stream Four at 14:00.

  8. Hitting your targets

Friend of Treasury Today, Fred Schacknies, SVP & Treasurer at Hilton, talks about treasury KPIs. Specifically, Schacknies explains how the use of KPIs can be a crucial tool in not only tracking treasury performance but also in highlighting the impact treasury has to the board and senior leadership. In return, this can give treasury a greater role in the organisation. Schacknies will be speaking in Stream Three on day one at 16:40.

  9. Known unknowns: combating cyber-risk

No business is immune to cyber-attacks, and some attacks will be successful. Putting in place strategies to mitigate the risk of cyber is therefore key for every business on the planet.
