Calendar with pins on dates

International Women’s Day

March 8th marks International Women’s Day and Treasury Today Group is delighted to be partnering with Kyriba to host a virtual event for our EMEA and North American community. This event is a moment to look back on International Women’s Day (IWD) and to discuss the evolution of gender equality in the industry.

We will address the wins and lessons learnt and will explore how to apply these experiences to the advancement of racial equality and inclusivity across the board. We will also explore how ideas of community, representation and the discourse itself have evolved and expanded. This interactive digital event will feature an expert fireside chat, a group panel discussion and audience questions and polling.

Black Lives Still Matter

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will continue to be explored in our upcoming racial equity coverage. In 2020, Treasury Today Group was humbled to see the impact of the Black Lives Matter movement across the world. Some of this year’s Nobel Peace Prize nominees attest to the ongoing recognition of racial equity and equality activists. Although formally a secret, the nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize can only be submitted by a select group of people which includes heads of state or politicians serving at a national level, university professors, directors of foreign policy institutes, past Nobel Prize recipients and members of the Norwegian Nobel Committee. Those who are deemed qualified to submit a nomination for the prize are themselves able to publicly declare the name of their nominee, which is why we know that, amongst others, the Black Lives Matter movement as well as Stacey Abrams whose voter turn-out work in 2020 was the culmination of her decade-long effort with her Fair Fight and New Georgia Project campaigns designed specifically to encourage black, Latin American and Asian voter turn-out.

We want to make sure that racial equity and equality stays firmly on the corporate finance agenda and will be doing so in a variety of ways in the coming few months through our articles, podcasts and events. ESG stayed firmly on the modern treasurer’s agenda in 2020 despite the trials of the pandemic and Treasury Today Group is proud to have launched our 2021 Global Sustainability Study which we would like to invite you all to participate in.

Without both your individual and companies’ experiences with ESG, we cannot continue to develop a roadmap to a more sustainable future for corporate finance. We look forward to analysing this year’s data set and to discussing the results with our community at one of this year’s dedicated events.
