Trick or treat in the quarantine age

Published: Oct 2020

As Halloween approaches, a canny man in North America has found a way to ensure social distancing doesn’t affect Texas children’s ability to trick or treat!

Trick or treat, social distancing

Austin-based Luke Keys has created a new addition to his house of ghouls, Artie, a robot who hands out sweets to trick or treaters. And he has it ready just in time for Halloween!

Artie was originally conceived a decade ago, with the idea never fully realised. 2020 with its bumps in the road has been the perfect moment to resurrect the idea and ensure that one festive folly stays in place this year. In addition to Artie is a cannon which shoots candy treats into the air for children to catch.

A rare moment of collective festivity comes to Austin, Texas!
