Perhaps feeling out of sorts as the pandemic pounds pile on, an eight foot king cobra made a surprise appearance at a local gym in Amersfoot, the Netherlands last Thursday 10th September, much to the astonishment of the staff.

Dannis Verwij, Manager of the Club Pellikaan gym expressed his astonishment when moving some pipes outside the building and coming across the snake.

A snake expert was summoned from Amsterdam and subsequently identified the species as a venomous king cobra. Native to tropical climates, the visitor was likely an escaped pet which will now be taken care of by the expert until its owner is located!
