Puppy refuses to be a K9

Published: Oct 2017

The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has decided to give up training a puppy that has proved that sometimes you cannot even teach a young dog new tricks.

Lulu, a black Labrador retriever, was handpicked to join the CIA’s elite K9 unit as a bomb sniffer. However, things did not turn out quite as planned for the agency.

“A few weeks into training, Lulu began to show signs that she was not interested in detecting explosive odours,” says a CIA statement.

The agency tried to tempt her with food and play to no avail. “She was clearly not enjoying herself any longer,” the CIA said.

Thankfully, this lazy pup will still make a difference to somebody’s life because all K9 dropouts are adopted by their handler for a life of luxury – it seems this pup had the right idea.
