21st January 2019 – LMAX Exchange Group (“LMAX Exchange” or “the Group”), a leading player in global capital markets that operates multiple institutional exchanges for electronic trading of FX and crypto currencies, has appointed Himanshu Kher as Group Treasurer. Himanshu began in this newly created role with LMAX Exchange at the start of 2019, having joined the firm from FTSE 250-listed IG Group plc, for whom he was also Group Treasurer.
Himanshu, who reports to Grant Pomeroy, Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO), brings 18 years of treasury, corporate finance, risk management and stakeholder management experience from a career spent with respected global brokerages, banks and consulting organisations. Prior to joining IG Group, Himanshu was a Director within Group Treasury at Barclays. Himanshu’s other roles included senior risk-management consulting roles at Boston Consulting Group and PwC LLP. He started his career as an M&A banker with Nomura Securities in Hong Kong.
At LMAX Exchange Himanshu is responsible for providing leadership and management of the Group’s Treasury activities and advising senior management on risk management strategies for foreign exchange. Other responsibilities include overseeing bank relationships as well as optimising cash and working capital management processes. He will also identify and implement opportunities to enhance the Treasury department’s contribution to company revenue generation.
