Press release: Charles Lin appointed Vice Chairman of CLSA

20th April 2020: Hong Kong, CITIC Securities Company Limited (“CITIC Securities”) and its international platform CLSA today announce the appointment of Charles Lin (林晓东) as Vice Chairman of CLSA, with immediate effect.

Charles Lin has more than 15 years of experience in the financial industry. Prior to joining CLSA, Mr Lin spent eight years at Vanguard in Hong Kong, most recently as CEO of Asia, overseeing the whole business across Asia including Japan. He initially joined the firm as Head of Institutional Sales for North Asia in 2011, before being promoted to Head of Sales, Asia ex- Japan and China, and finally to CEO Asia in 2018. Under his leadership, Vanguard established a joint venture with Ant Financial Services Group in 2019 to provide investment advisory service to retail consumers in China.

Before joining Vanguard, Mr Lin worked at the Shanghai International Banking and Financial Institute, Deutsche Asset Management and Banco Itau Asia. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Economics from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and studied at Kellogg School of Management and Harvard Business School.
