Published: Mar 2018

Francisco will be responsible for our Corporate and Institutional Banking activities, in addition to representing the BNP Paribas Group in Mexico and contributing to the development of all of its divisions. He reports to Lincoln Payton, Head of Hispanic LatAm.

Francisco brings close to 30 years’ experience in financial services in Mexico, predominantly in the Investment and Corporate Banking arena. Francisco joins from Deutsche Bank where he served from 2009-2017 as the Head of Mexico Corporate Client Coverage and previously held positions at Merrill Lynch & Co., Standard Bank and Finamex Casa de Bolsa.

As part of its CIB 2020 development plan BNP Paribas is launching a strategic growth plan for the Hispanic Latin America Territory with strong ambitions in Mexico. Part of this plan involves expanding existing business lines, introducing new activities and the creation of a bank in Mexico. This appointment is a critical role in achieving the bank’s regional and global ambitions and will enable BNP Paribas to expand its local offering and client franchise. BNP Paribas already operates the following businesses in Mexico: Corporate and Institutional Banking, Asset Management, Insurance and Personal Finance.

As a critical part of the Americas region, the Bank’s investment in Hispanic Latin America is an exciting opportunity. Lincoln Payton, Head of Hispanic LatAm, stated: “Hispanic Latin America is a crucial component in the combined Americas Region. BNP Paribas enjoys a strong reputation here, notably in Colombia and the Southern Cone. Our plans for Mexico to enhance client interactions and to further build-out our product capabilities with the creation of a bank are very exciting. This will also bring economic and cultural connectivity to the global BNP Paribas network, especially EMEA.”
