Most Curious and the case of a new billionaire astronaut

Published: Jul 2021

In this week’s Most Curious, Jeff Bezos is buzzing around in space on board his Blue Origin Space Mission. As the quest for ultimate status amongst the world’s wealthiest expands to other dimensions, Bezos became the latest billionaire to bag himself the new title of ‘Astronaut’.

Jeff Bezos’ space company is named Blue Origin and along with three other passengers, including aviation pioneer Wally Funk, he made his voyage into space this week. Their journey was short, with just four minutes of weightlessness before landing in Texas.

Sales are now, of course, open for tickets on this weightlessness flight into space with Blue Origin, with prices reportedly set at an eye watering US$200,000.
