Hitting clouds with electricity can apparently induce rain by encouraging the formation of larger rain droplets which are then more likely to fall from the sky!

Back in 2017 scientists at the University of Reading in the UK proposed utilising small aircraft to zap clouds with an electric charge. This was designed with the United Arab Emirates in mind, being as it is in need of increased fresh water. Four years following on from the academic group’s proposition, custom built drones will begin testing in Dubai.
