Giant avocado takes some smashing.

Brunch fans rejoice! Farmers in South Africa have created an avocado that is literally the size of your head.

The 1.2kg monster fruit, coined Avozilla, recently went on sale in Australia for the first time and sent Instagram into a frenzy.

The giant fruit, grown by South Africa’s Grove’s Grown Tropical Fruits, can be used to make at least 20 avocado toasts. They cost £9 per fruit.

Whilst looking like a mutant fruit, Avozilla’s are not genetically modified. Instead, they result from cross-breeding two sub-species of avocado.
