It was an odd week full of whale-related news at the start of November!
In Rotterdam, The Netherlands, a sculpture of a whale’s tail stopped a train plummeting to earth when it derailed, saving the train driver who was neatly caught by the tip of the sculpture itself.

And two Californian kayakers were thrown into the air by a humpback whale during a whale watching excursion which brought them a little closer to the action than they had bargained for!
