Anna has more than ten years of experience at S-RM overseeing due diligence and investigations projects across Asia. These include enhanced due diligence projects to support AML compliance and UHNW onboarding at some of the world’s largest financial institutions. She is a leading member of S-RM’s Asia Corporate Intelligence practice and also runs the Hong Kong office.
Anna joined S-RM in 2015 and played a key role in establishing and growing its Asia presence. She is a founding member of the Hong Kong office and has since helped to build teams in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. She currently oversees the delivery of corporate intelligence work across these three offices as well as managing key client relationships. She has worked on hundreds of complex assignments in APAC for a variety of clients, including multinational corporates, private equity investors, development finance institutions and law firms. She has sub-regional specialisms in Greater China, Northeast Asia, and Southeast Asia, where she has developed deep expertise of the local markets and political dynamics as well as extensive personal source networks in major cities and financial centres.
Anna has a BA in Chinese Studies from Cambridge University and speaks Mandarin.
Ruirong (Cynthia) Wang is Head of International Treasury at Didi, the world’s largest mobility technology platform covering 15 countries. A visionary treasury leader with 20 years of experience across Fortune 500 companies and high-growth Chinese tech firms, Ruirong transformed liquidity and risk management into competitive advantages.
At Didi, Ruirong built the international treasury infrastructure from the ground up, establishing strategic partnerships and data driven processes. Her achievements include creating a long-term liquidity framework, launching Didi’s first FX hedging programme, and optimising operation process to improve cash efficiency by 80% in three years. She also optimised payment networks across 14 jurisdictions, enabling real-time driver payments while significantly reducing costs. With these achievements, Ruirong was recognised with Treasury Today’s 2024 Adam Smith Awards Asia for Harnessing the Power of Technology.
Ruirong holds a MBA degree from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and received Six Sigma Green Belt.
David is currently Director of Global Treasury at Reinsurance Group of America (RGA), based in Hong Kong. David has 25+ years in corporate and regional treasury. Prior to RGA, David was with PwC advising clients on best in class treasury, providing insights gained from his Tier I institutional experience working in Pharma and i-banking in London, UK; and manufacturing in APAC. David holds a BEng in Chemical Engineering, a MSc in Business and Management and FCT certified with Association of Corporate Treasurers.
Georges Hanna is Valeo China Finance Vice-President at Valeo, with 21 years of international financial expertise. He oversees all financial reporting, cash management, tax compliance, customs, IT/IS, and cybersecurity functions. His career highlights include significant leadership roles following extensive finance management positions across China and Europe. Georges is recognised for his strategic acumen and team empowerment. He holds a Master in Economics and a Master in Management.
Hobson serves as the Corporate Treasurer for CSPC, a strategic petrochemical joint venture between Shell and CNOOC located in Huizhou, Guangdong Province, China.
With a career at Shell spanning over three decades, Hobson embarked on his professional journey as a management trainee after earning his economics degree from the University of Hong Kong in 1994. Throughout his tenure, he held various finance roles, including M&A Project Advisor, Deputy General Manager of Finance, and Corporate Planning Manager, across regulated and unregulated markets such as Hong Kong, Beijing, Taiwan and Huizhou.
Under his leadership, Hobson’s team has consistently garnered prestigious external treasury awards, reflecting his commitment to excellence and innovation in financial management.
He is a CFA charter holder and holds an Executive MBA from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Honnus is an experienced financial leader and TMT (tech, media and telecom) start-up expert with over 20 years of successful experience building multi-billion-dollar businesses in Asia. As Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer of On-us Group, a leading fintech company in Asia, she drives strategic growth and innovation. Honnus also serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director for two Hong Kong-listed companies, mentor at Cyberport and VP of HK Science Park Alumni Association. She is also a visiting
lecturer at Hong Kong Polytechnic University and vetting panel member of Technology Start-up Support Scheme for Universities. She actively contributes to ESG initiatives by sitting on committees for HKIHRM and CPA Australia.
Honnus kick-started her TMT career at Travelzoo and Yahoo!, where she played a key executive role in scaling both enterprises from zero to multi-billion-dollar companies in the Asia-Pacific region. She was a founding executive for both companies in Asia. Prior to that, she held various professional positions at American Standard Inc. and PwC.
Honnus holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Queensland, an MBA from Kellogg-HKUST. She is a fellow member of several prestigious institutions, including the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FCPA), the Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management (HKIHRM), and the Hong Kong Institute of Directors (FHKIoD).
Lucia is currently Treasurer and Inventory Controller at Klook Travel Technology. An early team member since 2016, Lucia previously held key roles in Corporate Finance, where she facilitated the company’s Series B through E funding rounds. She is recognised for her innovative and hands-on leadership style, actively pioneering new technologies. As Treasurer, Lucia spearheaded the development and implementation of Klook’s proprietary FX trading hub. This initiative significantly enhanced FX efficiency and reduced costs through automation. She subsequently led a comprehensive automation transformation of the entire Treasury operation. Upon assuming the additional role of Inventory Controller, Lucia drove further system restructuring to optimise both personnel effectiveness and capital utilisation. She holds a Bachelor of Economics & Finance from the University of Hong Kong.
Sharon Wang is the Senior Director of Group Treasury & Project Finance at CLP Group, one of the largest investor-owned power businesses in Asia Pacific. She leads a team responsible for overall treasury strategy, cash and liquidity management, financial risk management, corporate and project finance, debt investor and rating agency relations, and treasury digitalisation.
Before joining CLP Group, Sharon held key positions at multinational giants such as Bank of China, Intel, Honeywell, BASF, and Alibaba. With over 20 years of experience, she has developed rich expertise in global treasury strategies, operations and digitalisation.
Sharon holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Finance from Nanjing University and a Master’s degree in World Economics from Fudan University. She is a member of the CICPA and a fellow of both CIMA and ACT.
Sophie Jackson has 17 years’ experience in publishing. She began her career in a role in cultural publishing at the Dazed Group in London before moving to Tokyo in late 2010 to work as a freelance editor and consultant. Sophie headed up the launch of Treasury Today Asia in 2012 whilst based in Japan and then Hong Kong. Sophie is a driving force behind our global Women in Treasury initiative and a passionate proponent of diversity and inclusion. She is a UCL graduate who studied in Paris and London and is based in Europe.
Syed Musheer Ahmed is a leading persona in the Fintech and Digital Assets industries in Asia and is the Founder and Managing Director of Finstep Asia. With two decades of deep-rooted expertise in Financial Services, Capital Markets, Fintech and Digital Assets, Musheer has been a pivotal force in shaping the fintech and digital assets ecosystem across Asia, in particular in Hong Kong, South-East, South Asia and MENA.
His significant accomplishments include co-founding and serving as the inaugural General Manager of the Fintech Association of Hong Kong, as well as playing a foundational role at the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority of Dubai (VARA). Musheer’s extensive network spans financial institutions, technology firms, regulatory bodies and media, positioning him as an influential and credible voice on digital innovation and use of blockchain in financial services.
He has authored several reports, whitepapers and articles on financial services, blockchain and innovation including for regulators/policy makers, industry bodies and large fintech & blockchain firms. He is a featured keynote speaker at major fintech and digital assets events across Asia and been quoted in various established media channels. He has also taught courses at multiple Universities across Asia, while conducting thought leadership workshops for industry leaders at leading financial services institutions, demonstrating his commitment to fintech education and professional growth for aspiring professionals.
Violet is a dedicated and knowledgeable financial professional with over 25 years of comprehensive experience across a range of disciplines in Corporate Finance, Treasury and Cash Management.
Career Background and Experience
Since joining HSBC in 2010, she has held roles in Extended Enterprise, Sales Advisory, Sales Practice Management, Liquidity Management and most recently, heading up the Hong Kong CIB Sales team. During her time in these roles she has delivered commercial and financial successes through sales enablement, policy and governance, leading global product initiatives and focusing on complex consultative solutioning for clients.
Prior to joining HSBC, she was the Asia Pacific Regional Treasurer for one of the world’s largest global retailers headquartered in the UK and was responsible for driving treasury transformation, policy and strategy. In addition, she also developed and implemented working capital management and cashflow forecasting programmes for the group’s global subsidiaries in Europe, Asia and North America. She has also held other corporate finance and treasury roles within two large Hong Kong conglomerates.
Personal Interests
Outside of work Violet is a keen Ten Pin bowler and enjoys competitive sports. She is an enthusiastic traveller and likes to experience new places, environments and cultures. In addition, she is a passionate Lego builder and, on most weekends, can be found cheering on her son at his field hockey matches.
Vivian Peng is VP of Treasury, managing Asia Treasury of Flex Ltd. Vivian has over 20 years experiences of treasury management and finance management in MNC and also China state-owned company. Flex is a global company providing advanced manufacturing and supplier chain solution to our customers. With a heavy footprint in regulated countries such as China, India and Malaysia in Asia, Vivian has been actively defining strategies of liquidity and risk management in the region, keeping innovating new solutions by following regulations trend in different countries, optimising treasury process by automation and technology and being strategic partner to add value to the business. Vivian and her team have won a series of awards including top treasurer and team and best solution in cash, FX and working capital.
Yaping Wen has been with Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in Tokyo since 2015. She is a Certified Management Accountant with five years of experience in the accounting field and joined the treasury team four years ago. Currently, she is mainly responsible for corporate cash management, aiming to enhance cash efficiency at the group level. In 2024, she led a project to convert a domestic, decentralised treasury into a centralised, globally aligned business process treasury. This included transitioning from the company’s existing domestic payment connectivity to the global standard, SWIFT, onboarding a new global bank, and establishing centralised cash management in the ERP system. With this project, the team enhanced cash visibility and improved payment process automation and efficiency. This project won the Adam Smith Awards for Best Treasury Transformation Project in 2024.
