Founded in 1975, Microsoft is the worldwide leader in software, services and solutions that help people and businesses realise their full potential.

Leading with empathy

Jayna Bundy’s career spans 22 years across banking, insurance, software and devices industries. Diversity, inclusion, belonging and giving back to the community are core to everything Jayna does. Her passion for diversity and inclusion is second to none. Currently working as General Manager at Microsoft, Jayna leads over 900 vendors and the FTE global organisation financial programmes and analytics, focused on worldwide accounts receivable, and delivering innovative credit and payment solutions to global customers, partners and vendors to support their digital transformation journey.

People and relationships

Jayna has a strong focus on people and relationships, leading with empathy. With an inclusive leadership style, she creates an environment for her 1,000+ team members to thrive and deliver at their best.

Jayna deeply cares about diversity and inclusion, and the broader community. She is a senior contributor to initiatives such as Women@Microsoft, an employee resource group driving internal MSFT initiatives embracing and promoting women’s inclusion and success. She co-leads Senior Women in Finance, which focuses on providing a global platform and programmes for developing senior women leaders. As part of Microsoft’s Racial Justice Initiative, Jayna contributes to the project, providing black business owners access to capital.

She continues to lead by example and inspire everyone around her on how to deliver bigger, broader impacts across the community.

A passion for technology and innovation

Jayna has a passion for technology and innovation, with a relentless focus on customer support, technology and automation. This passion resulted in Microsoft Finance deploying automation in major ‘invoice-to-cash’ processes and leveraging emerging technologies such as machine learning and blockchain.

Milestones

In her illustrious career, Jayna has recorded many significant milestones, winning over ten industry awards in the process. Jayna led operations for Microsoft’s US$130bn investment and foreign exchange portfolios, achieving the role of General Manager and leader of Financial Programs & Analytics, including oversight of global AR and BPO. She has a strong engagement in initiatives to drive industry standards for e-invoicing and the digitisation of trade finance and implementation of ISO 20022 XML for bank statements and payments via SWIFT.

Jayna is recognised widely by internal as well as external leaders. She continues to inspire everyone around her. Her focus on diversity and inclusion, people development, a learner’s mindset, visionary, coach and mentor, reflect her strong management style.

Jayna is an exceptional leader who is respected and admired by everyone who comes into her orbit. Among her many outstanding qualities, ‘empathy’ is what stands out to me above all else. In the 17 years that I have worked with Jayna, this is what differentiates her and makes her unique. She truly and deeply cares and creates a trusted environment where her team can take risks, learn from failures and innovate. Jayna’s journey through treasury is marked by curiosity, hunger to learn, building confidence and taking risks to learn and grow. She took a new challenge when she left treasury and joined a customer and sales focused team. Her empathetic style and curiosity resulted in her taking on new challenges and building a customer obsessed approach to all that she does. She continues to be a thought leader and an innovator who embraces leading edge technology and inspires everyone around her to excel.
