Ten-year-old girl win’s a year’s supply of crisps!

Published: Jan 2024

A ten-year-old girl from Scotland has won a year’s supply of her favourite crisps after she campaigned to get her favourite flavour back into the shops.

Bowls full of crisps

Grace, from Edinburgh in Scotland took matters into her own hands after she was not able to find her favourite haggis flavoured crisps in her local store.

Taylors Snacks, formerly known as Mackie’s Crisps, pulled the haggis and black pepper flavoured snacks from shelves after deciding to only make the crisps available for the winter months.

Grace wrote to James Taylor, the managing director of Taylors Snacks expressing how much she not only loved the crisps, but also her family and said: “I really hope it could become all year round.”

“If you can thanks,” she wrote, before warning Mr Taylor: “If not I will be sad.”

Her charming words, together with a sad face drawing, were enough to convince him to put the haggis flavoured crisps back on sale for good.

Not only was Grace rewarded with a taxi full of haggis and black pepper crisps, but also a ticket for a tour around the factory.

Mr Taylor said, “When Grace’s letter landed on my desk, I was blown away by her enthusiasm and initiative. It was not just Grace who got in touch, however. Our customers let us know in droves that they were missing their favourite haggis and black pepper snacks”.

“We loved that people took the time to tell us how passionately they felt about the flavour. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to ensure our customers don’t miss out and are delighted to announce that the haggis crisps are back on the shelves.”
