Through this collaboration, MoneyGram uses Checker as a technology and liquidity access layer to move value in Latin America using USDC, giving its Treasury team an additional way to access local markets and manage liquidity alongside existing financial infrastructure.

About the partnership

MoneyGram is a global payments network that serves over 60 million active customers across more than 200 countries and territories. The company has a network spanning nearly 500,000 retail locations and billions of digital endpoints worldwide.

MoneyGram has increasingly incorporated stablecoins and blockchain infrastructure into its consumer products and behind-the-scenes operations, including treasury, FX and settlement. Through strategic partnerships in the digital asset market, MoneyGram is building an increasingly open and interoperable payments network for the next generation of money movement.

Through Checker, MoneyGram has another way to access local liquidity in Latin American remittance corridors using USDC. This gives MoneyGram’s treasury team an additional route for moving value between markets and managing its local currency needs.

“As we continue to adopt stablecoins, partnerships like this help us bring new technologies into our operations in a practical and seamless way,” said Chris Kelliher, Director of Foreign Exchange at MoneyGram.

“We are proud to support a company with the scale and reach of MoneyGram, as it continues to bring stablecoins into its treasury and FX operations. This partnership is a strong example of what Checker was built to enable,” said Jack Chong, CEO of Checker.

Building the infrastructure behind global money movement

Checker provides the infrastructure companies need to incorporate stablecoins into real operations, with a focus on security and compliance. Supporting a network with the reach and scale of MoneyGram reflects the growing role of stablecoins, not only in how people send money abroad, but also in how large payment networks manage liquidity and foreign exchange behind the scenes.
