The challenge

Eyewa sought a regional banking partner with global capabilities to optimise treasury transformation and simplification due to rapid regional growth.

Challenges included:

  • Defragmented and decentralised treasury.

  • Manual treasury processes.

  • Visibility of cash position and cash flow forecasting.

The solution

Eyewa leveraged HSBC’s international network for future growth plans, complemented by advisory services from HSBC’s Treasury Solutions Group (TSG).

TSG conducted several sessions to support Eyewa’s strategic journey through comprehensive assessment of existing policies and processes. This included benchmarking against industry peers and identifying best practices to enhance Eyewa’s framework to enable a compliant technology-driven regional treasury centre (RTC).

HSBC delivered a robust regional banking solution and facilitated a US$15m loan funding facility to support Eyewa’s operational and capital expenditure needs. This direct support contributed to Eyewa’s growth strategy, enabling the continued expansion of its retail store network across the GCC.

The solution encompassed driving enhanced treasury efficiency in the UAE, KSA, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain to deliver:

  • Integrated connectivity.

  • Working capital enhancement.

  • Enhanced cash visibility and forecasting.

Best practice and innovation

Eyewa transformed its treasury operations by integrating its Microsoft Dynamics ERP system with HSBC via seamless API connectivity across more than six markets. This innovation automated payment processes in multiple jurisdictions, eliminated manual file uploads and unified previously fragmented workflows.

Underpinning this solution is the deployment of HSBC’s Cash Flow Forecasting (CFF) tool, which delivers further advanced treasury capabilities. It automates data entry and provides customised dashboards; thereby eliminating the reliance on Excel spreadsheets. This is further enhanced by the Liquidity Management Dashboard (LMD), offering enhanced, real-time visibility of current cash position across all HSBC accounts globally. The overlay of CFF and LMD provides a fully automated present and future cash visibility for Eyewa’s treasury team.

Key benefits

  • Cost savings.

  • Headcount savings.

  • Process efficiencies.

  • Risk mitigation.

  • Number of banking partners/bank accounts reduced.

  • Exceptional implementation (budget/time).

  • Future-proof solution.

  • Improved visibility.

  • Increased automation.

  • Increased system connectivity.

  • Manual intervention reduced.

  • Reduction in errors.

As Eyewa expanded across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), its finance and treasury teams faced mounting complexity.

At the heart of Eyewa’s transformation was the seamless API integration between the ERP system and HSBC.

With this market-leading solution, Eyewa gained the ability to oversee all transactions from a single, secure platform, with data flowing automatically between systems. As a result, the team now enjoys significantly enhanced cash visibility and forecasting, thanks to HSBC’s advanced LMD and CFF tools – empowering them to make faster, more informed decisions. Once overwhelmed by manual processes, Eyewa’s treasury and finance teams have reclaimed five to nine working days each month with this implemented solution. Time that can now be dedicated to driving core business initiatives instead of routine banking tasks. HSBC’s solution delivered benefits extending beyond technology, equipping Eyewa’s team with the tools and agility required to advance the business seamlessly.
