Published: May 2026

20th May 2026 — New York is adopting amendments to previous legislation, adding Article 12 to New York’s Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), which allows electronic Bills of Exchange to be legally recognized. Ahead of going into effect on June 3, 2026, we are expanding J.P. Morgan Payments’ eBoE offering into the U.S. market.

Press release news paper

MTN SA completed the first transaction leveraging our eBoE offering last year in the UK, and the implementation of the solution in a major financial hub such as New York will bring new opportunities for multinational companies navigating global trade. Our eBoe offering leverages Enigio’s trace:original solution to facilitate the creation, management, and storage of Electronic Negotiable Instruments governed under the UCC amendments, providing the opportunity for broader market adoption and the ability to scale digital transactions under legal certainty.

If you are interested in learning more about the benefits of eBoEs, tune into Enigio’s webinar on June 3 featuring Natasha Condon, Global Head of Trade and Working Capital Sales at J.P. Morgan Payments, and other industry experts here: Bills of exchange, reinvented: how digital execution unlocks working capital.
