Treasury Accelerate is an exclusive programme created in collaboration with J.P. Morgan Payments and Treasury Today Group. Bringing together emerging treasury professionals to join a community that focuses on career progression and skills development with the aim of nurturing and fostering future treasury talent. The Treasury Accelerate community offers people at the beginning of their career the opportunity to join panel sessions and workshops on topics ranging from the technicalities of a TMS to digital currencies. The programme also brings insights from experienced treasurers to help people further down the career ladder learn from their expertise and build their network. In the next in our series of spotlight articles where junior treasury professionals share their experiences, we hear from Chloe Collins, Treasury Manager at Logicor.

What has been the most impactful learning or experience you’ve gained through the Treasury Accelerate programme, and how has it influenced your development in the treasury/finance industry?

Being part of a panel for the first time at the Treasury Accelerate conference was a genuinely rewarding experience. It provided a valuable opportunity to reflect on the early stages of my career and highlighted just how much can be learned within a relatively short space of time. The experience also gave me a renewed appreciation for the people who supported, challenged and taught me throughout that journey. The Accelerate programme has given me time to reflect, creating space for my own perspectives on my career to emerge more clearly: what I’ve enjoyed, what I’ve learned and what perhaps didn’t go as well as planned. Ultimately, these reflections have helped shape my thinking and will influence the decisions I make going forward.

Looking back on your career so far, what achievement or milestone are you most proud of, and how has it helped shape your professional journey?

Implementing our notional pools across the UK portfolio was a significant milestone, for both my own development and for the business. Delivering a meaningful improvement to group liquidity was rewarding and reinforced my views on the value treasury can add when aligned closely with the wider organisation. The project shaped how I approach project delivery, stakeholder management and system integrations, encouraging me to think more strategically. It also changed the way I view the business, not only as a collection of individual entities, but as one interconnected landscape. It highlighted how treasury can leverage sophisticated banking tools to optimise liquidity and support the organisation.

How is your line manager supporting the cohort membership and the impact of your inclusion in the Treasury Accelerate Programme?

I am fortunate to have a line manager who is engaged in the treasury space and actively contributes to the wider industry through articles and panel participation herself. She shares opportunities for me and the team to get involved in external networking and development groups like Treasury Accelerate, the ACT Future Leaders and Bank Conferences. Creating these connections and opening the door to the wider industry is incredibly important for those in the early stages of their careers, and it is something she is an advocate for. She encourages learning not only by sharing her wealth of experience but also in the backdrop of the wider industry, including Treasury Accelerate.

The Treasury Accelerate initiative in collaboration with J.P. Morgan Payments and Treasury Today Group invites people new to treasury to join a community focused on nurturing and fostering future treasury talent. Consisting of panel sessions, workshops, networking sessions and spotlight profiles to help junior treasurers learn from industry experts and build their network.
