Press release: Crédit Agricole CIB announces three senior appointments in ITB and launches Global Trade & Commodities unit

24th February 2025Crédit Agricole CIB announces three senior appointments, all effective 1st January 2025, in its International Trade & Transaction Banking division and launches a new subdivision within this, Global Trade & Commodities (GTC).

The GTC unit combines two existing subdivisions, Global Trade Finance (including Receivables & Supply Chain Finance) and Global Commodity Finance, to better serve Crédit Agricole CIB’s customers, streamline its operations, increase agility, and position the bank for growth. With a presence in 22 locations worldwide, GTC will offer clients a diverse range of solutions, including inventory finance, payables & receivables, trade finance, structured trade finance and structured commodity finance. Additionally, the team will contribute to Crédit Agricole CIB’s commitment to accelerate innovation through digitalisation, while also providing the most relevant, innovative financing solutions and products in terms of ESG criteria.

Javier Sanchez-Asiain, formerly Global Head of Global Trade Finance, is appointed Head of International Trade & Transaction Banking for Europe. Based in Paris, he will continue to report to Yves-Marie Gayet, Global Head of International Trade & Transaction Banking.

Dominique Honoré has been appointed Global Head of GTC and will be based in Paris, where she previously served as Head of Global Products & Structuring (in Trade Finance, Receivable & Supply Chain Finance, and Cash Management). She will report to Yves-Marie Gayet.

Vincent Gancel has been appointed Deputy Head of GTC where he will serve as Deputy to Dominique based in Paris, while keeping his current function as Head of the Commodities sector.

Covering more than 12 markets, our primary focus will be to upscale our client relationships, leveraging Crédit Agricole CIB’s diverse and innovative product offerings to provide solutions for both flow business and more structured needs. While aiming to remain the bank of choice for our clients, we will also push strongly to boost inbound business into Europe, ensuring we capitalise on every opportunity to grow and excel in this dynamic market.”

Dominique said: “I am delighted to take on this new role and help build a business line which will integrate all the needs of our Corporate and Financial Institutions clients in terms of trade finance and working capital solutions. Given the current economic and political instability, as well as challenges around energy transition and new technologies, we must remain highly agile and close to our markets. The new business line will enable Crédit Agricole CIB to build and offer solutions across the global supply chain and capitalize on potential new emerging corridors.”

Vincent commented: “I am excited to contribute to the establishment of a joint sales and structuring team in my new role, as we remain focused on addressing the trade and working capital needs of Crédit Agricole CIB clients through a combined sectorial and geographic approach. While retaining the expertise of our current business lines, we aim to adopt a more transversal approach, proactively assessing sectorial and market trends to consistently deliver the most appropriate and value-added solutions. This will enable us to operate with greater efficiency and agility in developing innovative products, while also accelerating our digitalisation journey.”

Biographies

Javier joined Crédit Agricole Group in 1997, working at Indosuez Spain. He then spent three years working at Crédit Agricole CIB within Madrid’s M&A team. In 2004, he became Head of the local Export & Trade Finance (ETF) team and then Head of Commercial Banking & Trade (CBT). In 2012, Javier moved to New York to develop CBT business for the Americas. He then joined the London team in 2017 to head International Trade & Transaction Banking (ITB) team for the UK. In 2022, he became Global Head of Global Trade Finance (GTF), including Trade Finance and Receivable & Supply Chain Finance Solutions product lines.

Dominique began her career at Crédit Lyonnais and subsequently held various roles as Coverage, Export Finance Manager, Origination Trade & Supply Chain Finance within several financial institutions such as Barclays Capital, ANZ Investment Bank, ABN Amro, and RBS. In 2015, she joined Crédit Agricole CIB as Head of Supply Chain Solutions within the newly created ITB Business Line, taking charge of the development of Cash Management products and contributing to the creation of Receivables and Supply Chain Finance activities. In 2022, Dominique was appointed Head of the Global Products & Structuring team, overseeing Trade Finance, Receivable & Supply Chain Finance, as well as Cash Management’s products.

Vincent joined the Group in 2000, working within the Risk department at Crédit Agricole in New York. He then moved to the Commodity Trade Finance Team in 2023 and occupied various positions in Switzerland and Singapore. In 2015, he was appointed Global Head of Commodity Finance and extended his responsibilities to the Commodities sector in 2021. In 2022, Vincent was appointed Head of Corporate & Investment Banking of Indosuez Switzerland, while keeping in parallel his functions of Head of Global Commodity Finance and Head of the Commodities sector.
