Chris’ team has full coverage of treasury products, including financing management, cash management, FX risk management and M&A financing, as well as supply chain financing and more, all on a global basis.
From comprehensive cash management and supply chain finance request for proposal (RFP) issuance and evaluation, taking months for different regions including North America, Europe and APAC, to top urgent credit commitment letter issuance for international acquisition, which gave him a few days, Chris worked with team members and different stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes. From the overseas liquidity safeguard in different regions during the COVID-19 outbreak in early 2020, to lower financing costs via cross currency swap after the Fed’s interest rate hike, he has led his team to overcome numerous challenges and embrace treasury innovation and technology under major pressures.
“I’m deeply honoured to receive the Adam Smith Awards Asia. The prestigious industry award is a great recognition to our company, my team and my long-term efforts on excellent global treasury management. We believe we can have more innovations and make additional contributions to our company and treasury industry in the near future.”

Hybrid sustainable finance framework launched
Chris’ most recent industry leading innovation is the launch of the first Hybrid Sustainable Finance Framework in Asia Pacific home appliances industry and closing of the first Sustainability-Linked Financing in Asia Pacific in the industry in July 2024. This is the first Sustainability-Linked Financing verified by the international certification agency and in line with principles of the Loan Market Association (LMA) for the Chinese home appliance industry. The Hybrid Sustainable Finance Framework includes both a Sustainable Finance Framework (ie use of proceeds, the funds can be used for qualified green projects and social projects) and a Sustainability-Linked Finance Framework (ie KPI-linked) to guide companies to adhere to technological innovation to achieve sustainable development.
Policymaking, relationships and dedication to the role
Chris is also in charge of the group’s treasury policymaking and updates, and he manages the company’s relationship with key international and local banking partners. He is dedicated to his work. The global corporate treasurer role is a challenging job, but Chris has embraced the role over the past few years, demonstrating great resilience and an ability to lead his team to achieve much success. He’s also willing to learn new knowledge and skills all the time – not only for treasury and finance – as long as it’s helpful to the organisation’s development. Currently, Chris is at the final stage of the Tsinghua-INSEAD Dual Degree EMBA Programme.
Chris focuses on relationship management. He believes that the win-win concept is essential for long-term relationship management and puts himself into others’ shoes even for very difficult decisions. He can always hold his ground, and he clearly knows what the bottom line is and can convince counterparts to accept it too. With his ability for transparent communication and sophisticated negotiation skills, Chris has won different stakeholders’ trust, respect and support to complete the challenging tasks of recent years, normally with very limited time and industry leading terms.
