Together with Refinitiv, Treasury Today Group is thrilled to announce our new Masterclass series Managing modern risk and regulation: how to expect the unexpected.

Managing modern risk and regulation: how to expect the unexpected

This is a four-part exclusive Masterclass series which will cover:

  • How to expect the unexpected – what you can learn from this series.
  • How to stay on track with LIBOR transition.
  • FX/risk markets.
  • Looking ahead.

Session 1: How to expect the unexpected – what you can learn from this series (18 mins)

Hosted by Andrew Hollins, Director of Corporate Treasury, Refinitiv and Mike Dolan, Editor-at-Large for Finance & Markets, Reuters

This session provides an introduction to the series and sets the context within the frame of recent events such as the COVID-19 pandemic and Brexit, risks that companies are now exposed to. It emphasises how important real-time information is for treasurers as they seek to stress-test and mitigate against all possible scenarios.

Session 2: How to stay on track with LIBOR transition (9 mins)

Hosted by Jacob Rank-Broadley, Head of LIBOR transition, Refinitiv

There is increasing pressure for treasury teams to stay abreast of regulations and guidance such as IFRS9, MiFID II and Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) transfer pricing. In addition, the deadline for LIBOR transition towards alternative reference rates and benchmarks is fast approaching. This session identifies and manages the transition of contracts and financial instruments that reference LIBOR and what will be a key priority for corporate treasurers.

Session 3: FX/risk markets (10 mins)

Hosted by Alex Goraieb, FX Trading Desktop – Customer Proposition, Refinitiv

Corporate treasurers now depend on the electronification of trading operations – such as foreign exchange and leveraging digital channels – in order to become more resilient to shocks as well as being able to manage workflow remotely. FX electronification must be underpinned by sound data. Find out in this session how this manifests in practice.

Session 4: Looking ahead (17 mins)

Hosted by Andrew Hollins, Director of Corporate Treasury, Refinitiv and Sonia Clifton-Bligh, Johnson and Johnson

After the past three chapters of this Masterclass and the broader lessons of the pandemic, one thing is clear, treasurers need quality, actionable data to meet the variety of challenges. Corporate finance professionals must be prepared to expect the unexpected and in order to do that need to arm themselves with information. In conversation with Refinitiv and Sonia Clifton-Bligh, we look at forward trends in the market as well as looking ahead to trends for 2022.
