Asia Pacific Corporate Treasury Benchmarking Study
The Treasury Today 2014 Asia Pacific Corporate Treasury Benchmarking Study was our fifth to focus on this dynamic region. The study gives a first-hand account of the trends, issues and future hopes of corporates who are operating in this increasingly important market. Although a diverse region, the study has highlighted a number of pan Asia trends and issues which will prove invaluable to banks, service providers and corporates who are looking to expand into the region.
“The Benchmarking study results offer valuable data that can motivate thought-provoking discussions with key stakeholders (internal or external).”
Manish Kapoor, Head Cash & Bank/Accounts Payable, Bharti Airtel Ltd India
The study attracted close to 250 responses from a broad universe including some of the region’s largest multi-national corporations. Singapore accounted for 47% of the responses; a reflection of the number of regional treasury centres located there. All the industry sectors were well-represented: Media/Telecommunications, Consumer Services (Leisure/Retail/Food and Drink), Chemicals/Healthcare/Pharmaceuticals, Industrials/Construction, Automotives/Transport and Energy/Natural Resources. Forty six percent of respondents are group or regional treasuries with their headquarters based in Asia Pacific; 31% are in the $1 billion to $10 billion annual sales turnover range, with a further 41% generating in excess of $10 billion in annual sales globally.
