Final call to action
Nominations close at midnight on 30th April
We have a simple ambition here at Treasury Today with respect to our Awards programme – to continue to recognise and showcase the best in corporate treasury practices as demonstrated by you, our readers.
Does your treasury department evidence best practice and/or innovation? Are you waiting for your efforts to be recognised by the wider business? If so, why not submit a nomination for this year’s Adam Smith Awards?
Now in their fifth year, these Awards are firmly regarded as the industry benchmark for corporate treasury best practice and innovation. Previous winners include many of the world’s leading multinational organisations as well as medium and smaller size enterprises from across the globe. They all have one thing in common. It’s really quite simple. They have each implemented solutions that have improved their respective treasury functions; in many cases taking them to an entirely new level.
However, you don’t have to be a Google, Honeywell, General Motors or Shell to qualify. We have received entries from every continent and a broad cross-section of organisations has been represented in terms of industry sector, size and treasury structure.
We have added some new categories in 2012 too:
Best in Class Benchmarking.
Best Short-Term Investment Strategy.
Best Financing Solution.
Best Process Re-engineering.
This makes 12 categories, plus the accolade of Top Treasury Team, won last year by Merck KGaA. Jörg Bermüller, Head of Cash and Risk Management at Merck commented on his team’s 2011 win, saying:
“The Adam Smith Awards really have set the benchmark for recognising best practice and innovation in the corporate treasury world, so to win the Top Treasury Team category is a fantastic achievement. I wish to thank the entire treasury team at Merck for all their hard work, support and dedication to the many projects which comprised our winning entry.”
If you have submitted an entry in previous years please do not be dissuaded from entering again this year. Alternatively, if you are a newcomer to these Awards please view this as an opportunity to showcase the projects you are working on within your treasury department.
We look forward to receiving your nominations – which can be made by completing the simple entry form at treasurytoday.com/awards. The celebratory lunch for Award winners will be held at Plaisterers’ Hall in the City of London on 14th June.
