Recognising success

Last month we had the pleasure of welcoming Award winners and specially invited guests to the inaugural Treasury Today Adam Smith Awards lunch held at the Four Season Hotel in London Docklands’ Canary Wharf. It was a pleasure to welcome such a distinguished set of winners to collect their Awards. To record their achievements, we are publishing an Awards supplement with this month’s issue of Treasury Today in which we feature all the winners in a series of one page case studies.

The Awards are made to organisations that have achieved great success in different aspects of finance and treasury management. They are the successful users of products and services or those that have moved the market forward with new approaches to old problems.

We do not simply give Awards to banks and other suppliers to the corporate treasury and finance function. We recognise success and projects that have added value and demonstrated best practice. We hope you will find this is a refreshing approach to the awards business.

What does come through very clearly from all our winners is that doing the basics well is the essential foundation on which successful projects are based. Allied with this, and also very important, is team-work in its broadest sense.

Taking your colleagues with you and getting your suppliers fully involved in the implementation was a characteristic feature of many of the winning submissions.

We hope you enjoy reading the case studies and that you find these winning stories inspire you to achieve in whatever project you are currently working on. Nominations for next year’s Awards will open in the first quarter of 2009 so you still have time to complete your project and then nominate your team for consideration for an Award next year.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Treasury Today 2008 Reader Survey – Call to Action

We believe we publish reliable, well-researched, independent, educational and professional publications and we want to continue to do that.

Feedback from you, as part of our readership, is absolutely vital to us to ensure our magazine and Best Practice Handbooks continue to deliver real value to you.

We would, therefore, be very grateful if you would take a few minutes of your time to complete a very simple survey which you will receive over the coming weeks via email. The survey is also available at where you will find a link at the top of the home page.

Thank you very much indeed.
