Why are the banks so reluctant to deliver what we all need?
We are about to see the introduction of Euro notes and coins. We have
another article on this important subject in this month’s newsletter. This
means that we will be able to use the same currency in twelve European
countries. We can already use our credit cards to pay for goods in these
countries (unaware of the charges levied by the card companies for this
privilege). But can we make a payment across these same country
boundaries cheaply and efficiently? No.
Why is this? Could it be that the banks have something to protect?
