A large financial institution is looking for a treasury back office manager to join their treasury team.
This position will be reporting into the Senior Treasury Manager.It is a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to join a very successful Treasury team.
The key responsibilities:
- Continual review of working practices. Ensuring processes and procedures are kept up to date.
- Accurate budgeting and forecasting to ensure costs in the department are effectively managed.
- Ensure the department is strategically placed to support any initiatives, technological and business, that happen through business development.
- Managing the payment systems appropriate for the business needs SWIFT Net, BACSTEL, Faster-pay, Bankline and Inform.
- Evaluation of existing and new systems and the ability to make operational recommendations where necessary.
- Ensure suitable Business Contingency Arrangements are in place.
- An understanding of MM instruments, Gilts, FRNS & CDs. Setting up a well controlled throughput of work and be knowledgeable enough to suggest enhancements for new market products.
- Have experience working with Reconciliations.
- Be able to build relationships with Senior Management & other institutions.
- Have experience with managing people and be able to facilitate the motivation and development of staff.
- Ensure operational procedures are in place to both mitigate the incidence or operational risk and to ensure best practice and efficiency.
- Identify and evaluate risks within the department (including fraud, errors, and inappropriate procedures) and put appropriate controls in place to manage these.
- Ensure knowledge and compliance with all regulatory requirements with matters such as Anti Money Laundering (KYC), Treating Customers Fairly, Data Protection and Information Security.
- Be able to develop strategic relationships and liaise regularly with other business managers ensuring a commonality of purpose throughout Treasury.
- Responsible for continual development, documentation and review of departmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure on a timely basis that adequate management information is produced, highlighting key trends and risk factors.
- Responsible for the hiring, training, and monitoring of departmental staff.
- Carrying out regular appraisals, managing absenteeism, managing and recording any disciplinary issues. Also reporting to the Senior Treasury Operations Manager.
- Ensure that an effective performance review is operating, including setting objectives and performance standards with regular documented review against progress.
- As a member of the management team, ensure that a contingency plan is in place to ensure the ongoing ability of Treasury to service customers in the event of a major interruption to the business processes.
Preferable candidate skills:
- A knowledge of Section 17 (Annual Tax submissions) & 975 Tax Certificates.
- Possess a good understanding of Interest Rate SWAPS.
- Management experience working in a financial institution.
- Have a great understanding of system change infrastructure from a business perspective.
- Have a proven track record in leading Treasury teams.
- Have strong technical, financial and risk management skills.
- Will have good inter-personal skills with the ability to make others to act.
- Have proven change management experience and skills.
